Preparing for Commencement

Step 1: Meet with Your Adviser

使用 LionPATH to request a current degree audit 和 review it with 你r academic adviser. You should meet with 你r adviser during the semester prior to the semester when 你 intend to graduate. If 你 plan to graduate at the end of the spring semester, meet with 你r academic adviser at the beginning of the spring semester. This will ensure that 你 are on track to meet all degree requirements. If 你 are missing course, credit, or grade requirements, 你 will NOT be able to graduate. You cannot graduate with missing or deferred grades.

请注意: It is preferable to avoid taking classes at another institution during 你r intended semester of graduation. If 你 do, 你 must ensure that Penn State receives 你r official transcript with the grades on time. If courses are not posted to 你r transcript on time, graduation will be postponed to the following semester. Step 2: “应用 for 毕业” on LionPATH

During the Intent to Graduate Activation period (refer to the 校历) at the beginning of the semester in which 你 plan to graduate, apply for graduation through the LionPATH 学生中心.

If 你 missed the activation deadline for 你r intended semester of graduation, 你 must contact Jessyca Brizek in the 注册商's Office at (电子邮件保护) or 610-396-6085.

IMPORTANT NOTES ABOUT APPLYING TO GRADUATE 
  • 请参阅 毕业要求 policy to ensure 你r eligibility to attend commencement.
  • Printed programs that contain a list of graduating students are distributed at the ceremony. If 你r intent to graduate is activated after the commencement program has been sent to the printer, 你r name will not appear in the program.
  • Your correct home 和 local addresses are needed for pertinent graduation information, 包括文凭. Confirm 和/or update 你r address on LionPATH 此时此刻.

Step 3: Purchase academic regalia (cap 和 gown)

Academic regalia must be worn to participate in the commencement ceremony. You may purchase 你r cap 和 gown at the 毕业 Salute events, which will occur in the months leading up to commencement. Please check back for details about these important events.
